I am fortunate to have found my three greatest passions in life.
Although balancing them all daily can be a challenge, especially considering the hectic workload and travel schedule which can average around 75 flights and 15 countries a year. As a family we opted to reside in Southern Spain, where the children could become truly bilingual and we could all take advantage of the down time and follow some truly great outdoor pursuits such as horse riding, paddle tennis and sailing.
Having been involved in the talent sector since I graduated from university some 19 years ago, I’ve had the privilege of building some truly amazing staffing businesses and working with some of the best minds in the industry.
For me the formula is very simple, work with the best talent, provide the best talent and deliver the quality of service you would want delivered to yourself. Which is exactly what we have set out to achieve across the TechStream Group.
Having worked with all the board members and many of our senior leaders previously meant there was an immediate bond and synergy cross the entire business in all our locations, two critical ingredients for a successful start-up.
Achieving such a senior balance creates a very strong foundation across all the brands within the group, and knowing each other’s strengths and weaknesses really allows you to have confidence in those around you to take ownership and drive forward with the desire and passion needed.
Our board prides itself on being hands on in every aspect of the business, we roll ourselves up support our consultants, directors and clients on a variety of different projects. Leading by example is a core belief we practice at every level.
As we design, innovate and implement our strategy, I can’t help but get excited about what the future holds for TechStream We are entering an exciting new era and determined to disrupt the traditional staffing models.
Having over 15 years of global talent acquisition experience, I have been privileged to have lived and travelled international throughout my career. Originally residing in the UK and providing technology recruitment into financial markets, I subsequently spent 9 years living & recruiting cutting edge technologists across Asia.
As part of TechStream’s broader global growth strategy and globalization of our CyberStream brand this has seen me move to the US (via Cape Town) to spearhead our International practice in New York.
My passion in talent acquisition & technology is derived from striving for excellence in service delivery and adding value to our clients by the execution of strategic sourcing solutions. As a founding director of EarthStream and later CloudStream and most recently CyberStream I have helped define and nurture these shared values & beliefs within our company.
At the core of this is the conviction that to become a true partner to our clients, we must demonstrate an integrity that is based on complete transparency and belief in our ability to add strategic value.
Throughout my career I have had an affinity with technically challenging marketplaces where technical advances & evolutions can change the landscape of how you work. My work at CloudStream in machine learning & the cutting-edge technology we see developed in CyberStream’s clients allows me to continue to interact with the “best of breed” technologists in their given fields.
Outside of work I cultivate my curious & energetic nature by exploring new cultures and have a passion for travelling. I have been fortunate in my life to experience the working and social culture across multiple countries around the world and have experiences ranging from Caving in New Zealand, Elephant riding in Lao to hiking in Cape Town or Scuba Diving in the Barrier Reef.
In 2014, after 8 years spent working across the UK and Dubai I relocated to Spain to support the growth of our group in the AutoTech market.
Growing up in a family with a passion for cars meant I was exposed to the industry early on, my interest peaking with the transition towards Autonomous Driving and Electric/Hybrid Vehicles.
My role at AutoStream sees my passion and career meet – an opportunity that not everyone is afforded, and I thrive in this space.
Currently I lead our team dedicated to discovering the best talent within ADAS, Connected Car and V2X, a space experiencing a global shortage and where I feel our networks and experience best meet our clients’ demands.
I have always been immersed in industries driven by Advanced Engineering & Emerging Technologies, working in sectors covering Offshore Wind, Oil & Gas and Aerospace & Defence. I feel most comfortable working with businesses driven by advancements in technologies, where I feel I can add value to complex practices.
Growing up an avid sportsman, I represented England in Basketball, London in Athletics and played semi-professional football well in to my mid-20’s. The move to Spain to experience an outdoor lifestyle and watch my son grow up in this environment is a pleasure in itself. I now fill my free time with hikes, canyoning and taking in the culture and scenery Spain has in abundance…not to mention the plethora of amazing golf courses, of which I chop my way around from time to time! Weekends on the beach are also frequent.
My outlook on my role in this business and my approach to partnering with the world’s most prestigious business is simple…provide an honest, transparent and valued-added service, building lasting relationships with my clients and candidates.
I am a bilingual (Russian & English) experienced engineering recruiter. I’ve gained over 10 years’ experience recruiting for Engineering, Technology and Oil & Gas opportunities in Europe and the Middle East.
I started my career working within health & safety for British Petroleum before moving across into the world of Human Resources and then the international move to Middle East (Dubai).
Once I relocated to Dubai I took all the HR knowledge I had gained and decided to utilise this within the world of recruitment. I felt understanding the client’s mentality, HR processes and experiences of dealing with recruiters would ultimately allow me to provide a better level of service.
During my time in Dubai, I performed a mix of onsite and offsite roles for global recruitment and consulting companies including AirSwift and Weatherfords until I relocated to Spain in 2017 with my husband.
After a short career break to relocate and establish our new lives in Spain, I decided to continue my recruitment career by joining AutoStream and beginning to focus on the exciting new world of AutoTech.
The market although technically different too much of my previous recruitment experience still has a strong grounding in engineering and safety, so my transition has been very smooth.
I now focus on supporting OEM’s and 1st tier suppliers across Europe.
Outside of work I love spend time with my family and strolling along the beach and enjoying the amazing weather we have here.
In 2008, after 18 years as a commodities trader at the International Petroleum Exchange and finally as an independent floor trader, I made a strategic life decision to move to Spain with my family. My wife and I were keen to explore new cultures and learn new languages and maybe have an all year tan! Spain seemed the obvious decision.
As I moved away from commodities trading and into the world of recruitment, the logical transition for me was to focus on the technology utilised within financial services and the trading platforms I had spent much of my life using as a trader. This market exposure gave me a very strong technical foundation in areas such as Systems Engineering and applications.
In 2014, I began to support projects across the engineering, automotive and aerospace & defence markets, having the opportunity to support projects in countries such as Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy and UK. Working with some of the world’s leading defence contractors and delivering across several high-level security cleared projects for the MOD, NATS, NATO and MOJ.
When I heard about the launch of AutoStream, I knew it was a brand that I could develop my skills within; having previously provided systems engineers for projects on UAV and Armoured Fighting Vehicles, the step into Autonomous Driving would be smooth.
The innovation I see across the industry on a daily basis is truly inspiring and it fuels my passion for the market.
Living in Spain means I have an amazing work life balance, something I feel is very important after spending such an amount of my life in high stress environments; the weather and location creates an opportunity for me to follow outdoor interests such as golf, tennis and scuba diving. Only this year I scaled “la Concha” one of our local mountains, where I was joined by some of our CloudStream colleagues
I grew up here in Spain and relocated to the UK when I was 21 where I started my career within Recruitment, working within Contracting and Permanent recruitment based in the Midlands.
I decided to return to Spain five years ago after discovering I would be having my son.
I have now been involved in the talent resourcing industry for just over one year, working within Wealth Asset Management and Digital sectors.
During this time, I have had the privilege of assisting some amazing candidates with the progression of their Consultancy careers.
Bringing 7 years’ experience in providing permanent recruitment solutions in the advanced technology sectors, Ramon partners with industry specialists in Semiconductor & Electronics, Power & Automation, Optics, Vacuum & Thin Film technologies.
As a German speaker, Ramon focuses on the DACH territory, but not limited to.
Ramon’s major achievements include placing a number of critical hires of roles for a range of clients including C&K Components, Arrow Electronics, RUTRONIK, Infineon Technologies, Maxim Integrated, Buhler Leybold Optics, Vincotech and Delta Electronics, and considers his biggest achievement the development of his relationship with Delta Electronics, building the Industrial Automation business from scratch across Europe over a sustained period.
Outside of his success with Delta, his most memorable candidate placements was placing two optical engineers with Cognex Corporation in Germany and relocating them from Spain, the special part of this placement is that they were a couple, recently married, and both placed at the same company, meaning they could fulfil their dreams together of working in another Country and improving their lifestyle .
Mara joins the AutoStream business to work closely with our Talent Consultants on our Industrial Electronics desk, within the technologies of Thin Film, Vaccum Coating, Power Electronics and Opto-Electronics across the DACH region.
She comes into our Group with a strong customer-focused background in the hospitality industry across large hotels and restaurants within UK and Europe.
Outside of the office, Mara loves spending time with her family, enjoys being outdoors where it’s peaceful and quiet and has a passion for cooking!
Starting my career in Ireland post Law Degree and Masters after a few years working in the world of Trade Unions I ended up in recruitment!
My first experience was a blend of on offsite and onsite roles, always focused on technology and mostly within the outsourcing arena, later branching out into cybersecurity and sales recruitment within that arena for leading telecoms and SaaS clients.
My inhouse experience was for one of the largest global outsourcing companies; I felt during my time here in Ireland this proved the greatest challenge and taught me valuable lessons as to how the outsourcing market operated.
The projects ranged in scale, location and technology, many within financial services or across agile development projects.
Always in the back of my mind, I had the urge to work abroad; so, when approached about an opportunity for CyberStream based in Spain and recruiting back into the world of cybersecurity and sales it seemed too good to be true!
Now well into my first year, all the signs are positive and have made some great connections in the Irish and Southern European Markets.
Michael recently relocated to Spain and has now taken on the role of Talent and Recruitment Consultant at AutoStream Global.
With 2.5+ years’ of experience providing both permanent and contract recruitment solution across a number of industries and geographies, Michael has fantastic experience most recently specialising in the Semiconductor & Electronics, Automotive, Power & Automation, Optics, Vacuum & Thin Film technology industries across the DACH region.
Originally from Spain, Maria has recently relocated back to her origins after an international seven years’ experience working across Europe in different areas such as hospitality and human resources consulting.
Now, while discovering the wonderful Costa del Sol, she had the opportunity to take her recruitment experience (previously based in Lisbon and Granada) across France and Switzerland within new challenging markets and environments. Maria has nearly three years’ experience in Global Recruitment and Talent Management, partnering with industry specialists in Semiconductor & Electronics, Power & Automation, Optics, Vacuum & Thin Film technologies.
Oscan joins John Martin’s team in Spain and comes with a great bundle of experience working in the generalist market and IT sector. Oscar has a mixed background starting off in the motor trade then moving into recruitment, more recently focusing on software engineering roles for businesses based in Surrey and the M4 Corridor.
He is looking forward to building a desk within embedded systems, artificial intelligence & machine learning. Away from work, he has a keen interest in sports (Cricket, Golf & Football).
